Charles Blakey set up Digisound Ltd in the 1970s. Based in Blackpool, England, it was run as a family concern. From February 1980 and into early 1981, there were a number of articles about the design and construction of various Digisound 80 synthesizer modules, in the electronics magazine ETI. From about June 1981, Maplin's newly-founded magazine Electronics & Music Maker took over the publishing of articles on new modules as they came out (although ETI did publish two or three others up until mid 1985).[1]
