Bernie Hutchins
Bernard A. Hutchins, Jr., known as Bernie Hutchins, (born in 1945 in Rochester, NY). He earned a B.S. in Engineering Physics from Cornell University in 1967. After serving three years in Army Intelligence, he returned to Cornell for graduate studies. In 1972, Hutchins founded Electronotes, a newsletter focused on electronic music and musical engineering. From 1974 until his retirement in 2009, he was associated with Cornell's School of Electrical Engineering, where he engaged in research and teaching. His work in audio and musical sound analysis, synthesis, and processing is widely referenced, including in books like Allen Strange's Electronic Music: Systems, Techniques and Controls and in various patents. Hutchins is a member of the Audio Engineering Society and has published papers in the Journal of the AES.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8]
