Charles Blakey (? – 198?) set up Digisound Ltd in the 1970s. Based in Blackpool, England, it was run as a family concern. Charles was responsible for the design of a number of synthesizer modules which appeared in the electronics magazine ETI from February 1980 and into early 1981. From about June 1981, Maplin's newly-founded magazine Electronics & Music Maker took over the publishing of articles on new Digisound 80 modules as they came out (although ETI did publish two or three others up until mid 1985).[1]
