Harald Bode (1909, Hamburg, Germany - 1987, New York, USA) was an early designer of electronic musical instruments.
In 1937 he built his Warbo-Formant Organ which had capabilities similar to those found in modern synthesizers. He presented his modular synthesizer and sound processor design at the 1960 AES convention, also attended by Bob Moog. This was the first patchable modular system with control voltage capability. In December 1961 Electronics Magazine published an article written by Harald entitled Sound Synthesizer Creates New Musical Effects.[1]
