Integrated circuits (ICs), also referred to as chips, have largely replaced circuits constructed from discrete components, are themselves arrays of transistors and other components built on a single chip of semiconductor material.[1]

Analog synthesizer ICs

In the mid 1970s there were two companies that designed and sold analog integrated circuits used in synthesizers Solid State Micro Technology for Music and Curtis Electromusic Specialties.[2]
